The AG TRANSRI LOGISTIC d.o.o. and Panonska vrata d.o.o. companies signed on 30 October 2009 a cooperation contract in Rijeka, which provides a legal framework to the joint project of opening a new container terminal in the Republic of Serbia. AG TRANSRI LOGISTIC d.o.o. is a new company founded by Adriatic Gate j.s.c. - Jadranska vrata d.d., a subsidiary of Port of Rijeka j.s.c. - Luka Rijeka d.d. and TRANSAGENT d.o.o., an international maritime and forwarding agency from Rijeka. The Panonska vrata d.o.o. company has been founded by Port Leget - Luka Leget a.d. from Sremska Mitrovica and the F.C.G. d.o.o. company.

The undersigned companies defined in the contract their organization concerning the transport of containers from the Port of Rijeka and other destinations by railway to the container terminal in Sremska Mitrovica, as well as the way of container handling, and their shipment from the terminal. The terminal covers an area of min. 20.000 to max. 50.000 m2 and has the status of a public customs warehouse; it shall be organized as a distribution centre for container shipments from and to the Port of Rijeka. The cargo shall be delivered within 24 hours from the terminal to the end users located in the Republic of Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

It is expected for the new terminal to start with its operations in the second half of 2010; with this step the partners in the project offer the highest quality intermodal services to the Serbian market through the Port of Rijeka Container Terminal and the Rijeka traffic route.
