The purchase of three new Reach Stacker for containers

The Port of Rijeka j.s.c. - Luka Rijeka d.d. has purchased three new mobile car-mounted container cranes of 45 tons load carrying capacity each, with the ability to lift containers to the fifth stack row. The total value of the reach stacker, the port mobile machines specialized for container handling, amounts to 1,12 million Euro. The machines were purchased from world known manufacturers of port equipment – the Swedish Kalmar and the American Terex which tool over the Italian Fantuzzi company in 2009. The cutting-edge technology and engines of the newest generation were installed into the newly purchased machines, harmonized with European standards of construction, safety at work and environment protection, in order to make the operations as little strenuous as possible and to keep the operators safe from injuries and occupational diseases.

The new equipment for Luka Rijeka d.d. will help the Company to increase the operational effects in container handling, especially the quality of services in storing, filling and emptying containers, and by that to increase additionally the total capacity of the Container Terminal.
