Port Handbook

The Port of Rijeka is known as a transit port, important for the countries in the hinterland, mostly members of the EU. The distance from the Port of Rijeka to capital cities of the surrounding countries by road and railway is about 500 km.

The Port of Rijeka is the shortest route over land and sea to Europe and other overseas destinations. It is positioned on the Pan-European Corridor 5b and, through it, with the traffic network of entire Europe.

The Free Zone in the Port of Rijeka consists of three territorially separated parts: the port basin Rijeka with its container terminal, the storage facility Škrljevo and the port basin Raša. The Free Zone can be used by Croatian and international natural persons and legal entities.
