Port of Rijeka j.s.c. is the largest concessionaire for shipping and reload of dry cargo in the Rijeka port basin; it is a market oriented company whose basic activity is to provide port services. The Company has been awarded with the first concession until 2012 with a prolongation until 2042.

Our mission is to provide high-quality port services. We operate as an up-to-date business entity and develop partnerships with our business partners and future users of our services – a basis to develop our vision of corporative development as a leading port operator in the North Adriatic.

In our own projects and together with world known market leaders in port logistics we initiate new investment cycles in order to introduce high organization standards, know-how of leading port operators as well as equipment modernization.

A certified quality management system according to the ISO 9001:2008 international standard has been established for the Port of Rijeka j.s.c. The certified services are part of the basic port activities to be provided at the terminals. The quality management system has been introduced in December 2006.

Port of Rijeka j.s.c. has a total of 768 employees, of which 60% work in production, 22% in operations and 18% in the administration department and management.

The first written texts which mention the port of Rijeka dating from 1281.g. in "Book of conclusions of the Great Council of Venice." Luke was then located at the mouth Riječina and over it many years served the export of wood, leather, wool, and imports of oil, salt, grain and solt fish.
